Day Zero: You’re Just in Time

So if you’re somehow involved in the world of the Internet chances are you know that people from around the world are descending on Guadalajara or getting ready to log on for five days of remote meetings.

And maybe you are already here too.

If you’re not, and you don’t know why this flurry of activity is taking place – you’re just in time to be a part of it.

What’s happening is one of the most important global events of the year when it comes to how policy and decision makers think about the Internet.

It’s the 2016 Internet Governance Forum or IGF as it’s known to many people around the world.  It happens once a year. Policymakers, business leaders,  technical experts, activists, and everyday people all take part in person or online.  Why? Because the IGF is open to anyone who has a stake in the future of the Internet.

This means you can take part too.

And the time do it is now. The world is changing. A new political context potentially pulls us closer toward the trends that we are already seeing – concerns around online security and people are losing trust in the Internet.

You need to be a part of the solution. If you’re not, what matters to you may not be included.

So today is the first day to do that. Let’s get started.
